Classes
Cygnus Scuba provides a progression of courses for the recreational diver. Class scheduling is flexible to meet the needs of an individual diver or groups. Classes are available year round. Open water dives are local from May through October. Tuition includes use of related equipment. Books and distant dive trips are extra.
- Open Water: Open Water Diver Certification allows you to dive up to 60 feet with a buddy, independent of supervision. Your PADI card will allow you to dive at sites throughout the world. You will learn gear assembly, mask clearing, regulator usage, buoyancy control diving safety, snorkeling, entries/exits, and descents/ ascents. Classes include 8 to 10 hours of classroom, 4 to 6 hours of pool sessions and 4 open water dives.
- Advanced Diver: To take this course you need to be an active certified Open Water Diver and provide your own basic dive gear (mask, snorkel, fins and boots). Certification requires introductory review and dives for 5 specialties: underwater navigation and deep diving plus three of the following: boat diving, drift diving, night diving, peak performance, photography, wreck diving, and search and recovery.
- Rescue Diver: The Rescue Diver program prepares you to help prevent, and ,if necessary, manage dive emergencies. To take this course you must be an active certified Advanced Open Water Diver The couse includes a classroom session, water training session and open water rescue scenarios. To become certified you must complete recognized CPR and First Aid courses.
- Dive Master: Dive Master is the first level of PADI professionals. To take this course you must have completed the Rescue Diver Course includding CPR and First Aid certification). You will learn to provide assistance to a dive instructor. Upon completion, after acquiring required insurance, you will be able to run dive trips.
